As part of this effort, the 2nd Traditional SATMER Culture and Arts Festival, organized by İstanbul Gelişim University's Center for Art and Design Practice and Research (SATMER), brought together different disciplines of art under one roof and was held over three days to strong attendance and great interest.
İstanbul Gelişim University continues to contribute to sustainability and environmental awareness through its students. As part of this effort, Furkan Emre Başaran, a student in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of IGU's Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences (FEASS), participated as a climate ambassador on behalf of the university in the "Marmara Region Climate Ambassadors Zero Waste and Climate Workshop." The workshop, hosted by Sakarya University, aimed to raise awareness on environmental sustainability and to support young people's active participation in climate policy. Organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event addressed many important topics related to the environment and climate from academic and technical perspectives.

Hosted by İstanbul Gelişim University, the 10th International Middle East Symposium under the theme "In Search of the Future" examined the Middle East's political, social, and economic challenges through multidimensional scientific approaches. The symposium, organized through a collaboration between İstanbul Gelişim University's Center for Political and Social Research (İGÜSAM) and MOKHA Center for Strategic Research, brought together academics and expert researchers from different countries.
İstanbul Gelişim University continues its work in health technologies and scientific research with projects contributing to the international literature. A study conducted by Res. Asst. Görkem Açar from the Sports Management Department of İstanbul Gelişim University's Faculty of Sport Sciences (FSS) and the research team yielded important results that will pioneer the global literature on the rehabilitation of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients. The study, carried out using the Cyberdyne HAL robotic rehabilitation system, was published in the journal Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders as the world's first study examining the effects of HAL technology on MS patients.
İstanbul Gelişim University has added another achievement to its successes in line with its approach to quality and continuous improvement in education. The accreditation processes for three departments offering education within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences (FEASS) have been successfully completed, and the full accreditations awarded to the departments by AQAS have been renewed and their certificates updated. As part of the updated accreditations, the Political Science and International Relations Departments, offering undergraduate education in both English and Turkish, and the Political Science and Public Administration Department have maintained their full accreditation status.

The invention titled "Composite Material Reinforced with Jute Fiber and Abyssinian Banana Fiber, Production Method and System," bearing registration number TR 2025 021970, developed by Asst. Prof. Mert Yıldırım, a faculty member in the Industrial Engineering Department of IGU's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (FEA), has been registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) for a period of 20 years under an examined patent. The invention, developed for the utilization of natural fibers in composite material production, offers an environmentally friendly, sustainable, and value-added engineering solution.
According to the Impact Ratings 2026 results announced by Times Higher Education (THE), İstanbul Gelişim University (IGU) has continued its rise in sustainable development, adding another international achievement to its record. In the ranking prepared in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), IGU climbed from the 601–800 band it occupied last year to the 401–600 band, once again demonstrating its steady progress in sustainability performance, while also entering the top three among foundation universities in Türkiye.

One of the latest examples of these achievements is Elif Sude Akgül. The national athlete, a second-year student in the Coaching Education Department of Istanbul Gelisim University's Faculty of Sport Sciences, won the European Championship in the women's 49 kg category at the European Senior Taekwondo Championships held in Germany, bringing immense pride to both Türkiye and her university.

As part of events that support the university's applied education approach and contribute to students' direct experience of current industry dynamics, Doğan Group Family Companies Board of Directors Chair M. Erol Çamur met with students at the "Leadership Meetings" event organized by İstanbul Gelişim University's Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences. Held in the Ötüken Conference Hall, the event examined important topics of our time including leadership, the changing business world, technological transformation, continuous development, and financial literacy. Batuhan Aysan, a student in the Visual Communication Design Department of IGU's Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), served as a host at the Green for Youth Summit, organized by the Green for Youth Association, which encourages young people to take an active role in sustainability and social impact. At the event held at Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Congress Center, Batuhan Aysan co-hosted the program alongside Elif Ecrin, one of the association's volunteers, playing an active role in the summit's communication and interaction processes. The role taken on by the IGU student at this event, where young people came together on topics of environmental awareness, sustainability, and societal transformation, once again demonstrated the university's student profile focused on social impact.
