Historical Success from Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club!

The Psychology Days, which were made traditional by the Department of Psychology of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), were held this year with the theme of "Sleep and Dream". The two-day event was organized to share up-to-date academic information on different fields of psychology, to increase students' professional awareness and to support their scientific thinking skills.

The Gelisim Film Academy, which was established in cooperation with Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts and the Department of Public Relations and Promotion, aims to bring a new breath to the cinema sector. The Academy aims to reveal their creative potential and raise qualified individuals in the field of cinema with the comprehensive trainings it offers for young people between the ages of 14-18.

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing held a meaningful awareness event in Buyukada (Big Island) within the scope of 17 May World Hypertension Day. In this study, which prioritizes public health, the blood pressure of the island visitors was measured at the stand and information was given about hypertension and circulatory system diseases.

The international congress titled "Current Discussions from the Perspective of Sociology and Philosophy" organized by the Sociology Department of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) was held in hybrid format on 15-16 May 2025. The congress, which brought together academics on a global scale, offered a remarkable academic platform in terms of both content and participant diversity.

The document presentation ceremony held at Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Campus Historical Bath Building brought together 12 universities accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK). Istanbul Gelisim University Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin and Vice Rector Prof. Arda Öztürkcan attended the ceremony. YÖKAK President Prof. Ümit Kocabiçak, Vice President Prof. Mustafa Çufalı and members of the board of directors also took part.

Within the scope of the activities of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, in order to increase the access of researchers and students to basic and secondary sources in the field of history, with the works selected from the publications of the Turkish Historical Society, 100th Year Library” was established.

The "Healthcare Professionals Compete in Turkey" final, organized to draw attention to the importance of vocational and technical education in the field of health, was held on May 7, 2025 at Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex. Under the responsibility of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, with the support of Esenyurt District Governorship; within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between Esenyurt District Directorate of National Education and Istanbul Gelisim University, the competition organized under the coordination of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was held with intense participation from across Turkey.

Launched under the coordination of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and implemented as a student-oriented initiative, the Jet Drone project has reached an important milestone by moving to the production stage. The project, which progresses in cooperation with academicians, students and industry stakeholders, is being developed with the aim of contributing to domestic and innovative technologies.

The SATMER Culture and Art Festival organized by Istanbul Gelisim University was opened. It is aimed to make the festival, which brings together art lovers by bringing together 15 different art branches from the Ottoman Empire to the present day with technology, a tradition and to take it to the international level.

Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club once again made a name for itself with its success in underwater sports. The outstanding performance of the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) in the Turkish Fishing Club Championship and National Team Draft held in Aydın Didim Güllük Bay between 9-11 May 2025 revealed the level of university sports. While the Women's Team became the Turkish Champion by surpassing all its competitors, the Men's Team achieved the title of Turkey Second.
