IGU Crowned Its Achievements at TEKNOFEST 2025 with a Certificate Presentation Ceremony


A certificate presentation ceremony was held at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) for the project and invention owners who received awards at the International Invention Fair (ISIF) and the TEKNOFEST Aviation Ideathon competitions, held between September 17–21, 2025, as part of TEKNOFEST 2025. At the ceremony held at the Rectorate, the awards were presented by IGU Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin. Vice Rectors Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı and Prof. Nuri Kuruoğlu, as well as TTO Director Yahya Kemal Kıran, also attended the ceremony.


Awards Received at ISIF

Gold Award

Asst. Prof. Serkan Gönen, Banu Altay Altın — A system that ensures the security and privacy of biometric data in autonomous vehicles




Silver Awards

Lecturer Çisem Yaşar — A sensor mechanism that identifies the region for epidural anesthesia
Lecturer Aysun Yılmaz Kızılboğa, Abdullah Mert Leblebici, Cem Arslanpençesi — A data management platform for security events








Bronze Awards

Assoc. Prof. Sertaç Aksakallı — A functional coating system containing biologically active agents, applicable to modified surface orthodontic plates and surgical splints

Dr. Sena Taş, Prof. Fırat Kaçar — A 3-bit LC lattice digital phase shifter circuit operating at 4.5–5.5 GHz

Dr. Kübra Sağlam, Prof. Ömer Şimşek, Assoc. Prof.  Fatma Coşkun — A functional sourdough with antifungal activity and its production method




Aviation Ideathon Award


At the Aviation Ideathon competition sponsored by Turkish Airlines (THY), IGU Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Research Assistant in Aircraft Engineering Hüseyin Furkan Çelik won first place and received the gold medal. The award was presented by the President of Türkiye.
