The 2025 edition of the “World’s Most Influential Scientists” list, which ranks over 200,000 scientists in the top 2% worldwide based on the impact of citations to their publications, has been published in the Elsevier database. The list was compiled by a research team led by Stanford University. Published in two categories—“Career-Long Impact” and “Annual Impact (2024 Studies)”—the list includes four academics from Istanbul Gelisim University in the “Career-Long Impact” category and one academic in the “Annual Impact” category.
Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has added a new international achievement to its scientific progress. Asst. Prof. Bahadır Kopçasız, faculty member of the Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, was honored with the "Best Researcher Award" at both the Global Particle Physics Excellence Awards 2025 and the Math Scientist Awards 2025, where distinguished researchers from around the world are nominated.
A certificate presentation ceremony was held at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) for the project and invention owners who received awards at the International Invention Fair (ISIF) and the TEKNOFEST Aviation Ideathon competitions, held between September 17–21, 2025, as part of TEKNOFEST 2025. The "Skills of the Future" course was added to the curriculum for the first time in the 2025–2026 academic year and offered as an elective. Diyarbakır is preparing to host a major international event in the field of cinema and media between September 3–5, 2025, organized in collaboration with Istanbul Gelisim University and Dicle University. The first-ever SineAkademi International Cinema and Media Studies Congress (SineMed), hosted by Dicle University and academically supported by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), and with the backing of numerous institutions, aims to bring together culture, art, and academia in Diyarbakır. Held at Dicle University’s 15 July Congress and Culture Center, the congress is set to create a cultural breeze in the city with a wide-ranging program that includes academic presentations, film screenings, director talks, and workshops.
