International Mixed Exhibition on Different Formations Opens to Art Lovers at IGU


The International Mixed Exhibition on Different Formations organized through a collaboration between Istanbul Gelisim University's Center for Art and Design (SATMER) and the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), opened its doors to art lovers to a large audience.


An International Art Gathering at the IGU Art Gallery

 
The opening of the exhibition, held at Istanbul Gelisim Art Gallery on April 8, 2026, drew great interest from academics, artists, students, and numerous art lovers. Bringing together different disciplines, including painting, graphics, sculpture, and ceramics, and aiming to offer visitors an interdisciplinary art experience, the exhibition features works by a total of 26 artists from six different countries.


 
Artists featured in the exhibition include Prof. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay, Prof. Metin Kuş, Prof. Aysun Cancat, Prof. Selahattin Ganiz, Prof. Ahmet Özol, Prof. Ergin Çavuşoğlu, Prof. Erol Yıldır, Prof. İsmail Avcı, Prof. Sibel Avcı Tuğal, Prof. Basri Erdem, Assoc. Prof. Nuri Sezer, Assoc. Prof. Burak Boyraz, Assoc. Prof. Ramil Mammadov, Assoc. Prof. Bahtiyar Yusufov, Asst. Prof. Ceren İren, Asst. Prof. Erdem Çağla, Asst. Prof. İlker Danalov, Lecturer Mehmet Öğüt, Lecturer Ömer Faruk Söyler, as well as Suzan Glaum, Aydın Sofu, Enis Sofu, and Şermin Ayşe Tepe.
 



FFA and SATMER Underscore Collaborative Spirit

 
The opening of the exhibition, which aims to strengthen international artistic engagement, was attended by IGU FFA Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Murat Doğan, IGU SATMER Director Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay, academics and university members, as well as a large number of guests. Delivering the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Murat Doğan emphasized the importance the university places on art and artists, and stated that the coordinated work between the Faculty of Fine Arts and SATMER plays a vital role in bringing high-quality events like this to life. He also underscored that having a Center for Art and Design Practice and Research represents both a significant privilege and a responsibility for IGU.
 

Curator Prof. Çavuşoğlu: “A Strong Exhibition of International Caliber”

 
Prof. İsmet Çavuşoğlu from IGU FFA’s Graphic Design Department, who curated the exhibition, expressed his pleasure at the strong interest shown in the event in his opening remarks. Çavuşoğlu noted that the convergence of artists from different disciplines enriches artistic production, and that the works featured in the exhibition are both original and of international quality.
 
Also addressing the development of Istanbul Gelisim Art Gallery in his remarks, Prof. Çavuşoğlu noted that the gallery has been officially trademark-registered and that its international recognition is steadily growing.


 
The exhibition, bringing together international artistic production, will be open for visitors at Istanbul Gelisim University's Gelisim Art Gallery until April 30, 2026.
