Visit to Modyo TV by Istanbul Gelisim University Public Relations and Publicity Students


A technical field trip was organized on November 5, 2025, to Modyo TV, the broadcasting network featured on Istanbul’s public transportation systems, with students from Istanbul Gelisim University’s Department of Public Relations and Publicity. Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Sarp Bağcan, Head of the Department, the students had the opportunity to observe media production processes on-site.


The Visit Took Place at Modyo TV’s Broadcast Center in Istanbul

As part of the course HIT305 – Corporate Identity and Brand Management, the event was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, between 12:00 and 14:00 at Modyo TV’s broadcast center in Istanbul. The visit offered students a practical learning experience in the media industry.



Guided by Assoc. Prof. Sarp Bağcan, students closely examined the operations behind broadcasting on public transportation vehicles. During the event, Elif Özgüzelbaş, Editor-in-Chief of Modyo TV, welcomed the students and shared detailed insights into the organization’s broadcasting philosophy, target audience strategies, and media production processes.


An Event Connecting Theoretical Knowledge with Industry Practice

Participants toured the studio areas and observed the technical equipment, broadcast flow planning, content production, and control processes. Throughout the visit, students had the chance to speak directly with Modyo TV staff and learn about the roles and responsibilities of various positions in the media industry. In addition, informative presentations were held on branding in broadcasting and the construction of corporate identity.



This visit enabled IGU students to connect their theoretical coursework with real-world industry applications, gaining firsthand experience of the dynamics of media production. Furthermore, it introduced them to innovative approaches in the broadcasting sector, focusing on the unique model of public transportation broadcasting.
